mark it on the calendar. shouldn’t be jaw-dropping or shivers-inducing, but i’m shaking with my jaw on the floor. sad that the simple words – “it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that i think same sex couples should be able to get married” – are so divisive, and that it’s such an act of courage to express support for equal rights. but here we are. hopefully those alienated and saddened by the events in north carolina are lifted a little higher today. bravo, mr. president.
